Need about 7.5-8 lbs of masa for 9 lbs of meat
(1/2/2026: about 27 tamales with 2.5 lbs of masa)
*Each batch of masa is 2.5 lbs
Ingredients
- 2.5 lbs of masa
- 1.5 stick butter
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- Mix it together until well blended.
- Optional: add 6 tbsp of sauce for tamale type (red for red, green for green)
- Add a small drop to a glass of water to see if it floats. If it floats, it's ready. If not, continue mixing for 1-2 min and try again.
